To mark World Anti-Counterfeiting Month, we\u2019re proud to share our involvement in a bold\u00a0anti-counterfeiting<\/a>\u00a0and sustainability initiative, that redefines how seized counterfeit goods are destroyed, turning a liability into an opportunity for environmental and social impact.<\/p>\n

This important initiative has been made possible through the leadership and funding of\u00a0React<\/a>, a global anti-counterfeiting network with over 30 years of experience. Representing 350 businesses and around 280 rights owners worldwide, React works across all industry sectors to combat the illegal trade in counterfeit goods. The vision and support of React members have been instrumental in launching this project in South Africa.<\/p>\n

At the operational core of the initiative is Allied Storage, home to the country\u2019s largest and most advanced counterfeit goods destruction facility, located in Clayville, Gauteng. Handling over 70% of South Africa\u2019s counterfeit stock, Allied is setting a new benchmark for secure destruction, sustainable waste management, and inclusive job creation.<\/p>\n

Together, React and Allied Storage are pioneering a model that balances enforcement with environmental responsibility and social development \u2013 setting an example not just for South Africa, but for the world.<\/p>\n

A Model of Responsible Destruction and Innovation<\/h2>\n

The fight against counterfeiting extends beyond enforcement. It\u2019s about ensuring that spurious goods do not re-enter the market and that their disposal does not harm the planet. At Allied Storage, counterfeit items, ranging from fast fashion to electronics, are recycled or upcycled wherever possible.<\/p>\n
